He was well loved through the community and was a member of Central Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patty L. (Ripley) Hoberg; two children, Jimmy (Shelly) Hoberg, Sr., of Newark and Patty (John) Hineman of Missouri; eight grandchildren, James Allen Hoberg, Jr., Dustin Lee Hoberg, Daniel Arthur Hoberg, Morgan Delaney Hineman, Tyler Lee Hineman, Cody James Hoberg, Ryan Allen Hoberg and Sydney Marie Hineman; a brother-in-law, Albert Haines of Warsaw; a niece, Sallie (Rusty) Gates; and a nephew, Lynn (Deb) Haines.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lunda Lee Hoberg, Jr.; a great-grandson, Jaydon; two siblings, Jerry Hoberg and Betty Jean Haines; and his beloved dog, Leanne.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church or Generations Hospice. www.hendersonvanatta.com
