Michael Helmick Obituary

Michael Helmick

Coshocton - Michael A. Helmick, 21, of Coshocton passed away much too soon on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Grant Medical Center.

Michael was born in Newark, Ohio on January 8, 1997.

He graduated from Coshocton City Schools and The Coshocton County Career Center. (Class of 2015) He also attended C-TEC for welding. He was passionate, stubborn and fearless. He was the life of the party and loved being with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing video games, fishing, and tinkering with vehicles. Michael loved anything fast, whether it was cars, street bikes, or four-wheelers.

Though Michael's life was short, he provided the gift of life for six people through organ donation.

Michael is survived by his mother Jennifer (Jason) Bookless of Coshocton; father Todd Helmick of Coshocton; a brother Dylan Helmick of Coshocton; grandparents Jean Darr and Merv Dixon of Coshocton; aunt Julie (Mark) Taylor of Thornville and a cousin Alex Taylor of Thornville.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather Gerald Darr of Coshocton, great grandparents Bill and Vel Eblin of Coshocton, and great grandparents Wayne and Mary Welker of Dayton.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Saturday February 3, 2018 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Funeral services for Michael will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 12:30 PM with Mark Granger officiating. Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery.

To honor Michael, his family request that everyone attending the calling hours and services to dress casual, that's the way Michael would have wanted.
