Robert Urey Obituary

COSHOCTON: Robert Lee Urey, age 82, of Coshocton, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2010.

He was born on January 9, 1928 to the late Clarence and Mabel (Donnelson) Urey. He worked for Hellers later known as Simonds Tool Company for 45 years before retiring. Robert was a member of the Salvation Army of Coshocton, volunteered for over 10 years serving food around the holidays to families in need, he loved to watch horse harness racing at the fairgrounds, always enjoyed the firework displays, enjoyed attending parades, fishing and working on cars, playing cards especially Skibo and Uno, enjoyed playing Bingo, and putting puzzles together.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Mary Urey whom he was married to for 36 years; son, Robert W. Urey of Canton; daughter, Marian (Clyde) Franklin of Coshocton; seven grandchildren, Geno Franklin, Wanda Brink, Sandy Tarman, Lauren Urey, Justin Urey, Derek Lee Urey, and Dustin James Urey; four great grandchildren, David, Kassidy and Trinity Tarman, and Johnnie Casser.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Johnnie Allen Urey; two brothers, George W. Urey and John Allen Urey; and sister, Catheryn Urey.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Salvation Army with Willis Pigman officiating, music will begin at 9:30 a.m. and services will begin at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends after the service from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army. Per Robert's wishes a cremation will take place.

In lieu of flower, memorial donations can be made in Robert's memory to the Salvation Army, 219 N. 4th Street, Coshocton, Ohio 43812 or this holiday season, please donate to any of the Salvation Army kettles.
