Roger Lafferty Obituary

LANCASTER: Roger A. Lafferty, age 76, of Lancaster, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April, 30, 2010.
He was born on February 2, 1934 to the late Reverend Paul L. and Lucille Lafferty. Roger served in the United States Army and in the United States Navy. He was in the 101st Airborne Division, at Fort Campbell, KY and also stationed out of Norfolk, VA, with an aircraft carrier group. Roger loved all sports, especially football. He was a superb football player in high school, played semi -pro in both services and was signed on with the Denver Broncos. He followed The Ohio State Buckeyes and kept track of their "blue chippers". Roger loved the Lord with all his heart and his memory will always bring a smile for his cheerful disposition and incredible wit.
He is survived by his four children, Gregg (Beth) Lafferty of Bristol, CT, Brad Lafferty of Bronx, NY, Autumn Lafferty of Lancaster, OH, and Joshua Lafferty of Des Moines, IA; step-son, John Porter of Lancaster, OH; step-daughter, Misty Holliday of Lancaster, OH; grandchildren, Jake and Brady Lafferty of Bristol, CT, Cullen Lafferty of Bronx, NY, Skylar, Donnell, and Carmen Lafferty of Lancaster, OH, and Parker Lafferty of Des Moines, IA; sister, Shirley Hough of Columbus, OH; and brother, Greg (Pat) Lafferty of Valparaiso, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Stephen Lafferty; and brother, Vernon Lafferty.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Given-Dawson Funeral Home, Coshocton, with Reverend Irwin E. Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in Tyndal Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 3, from 5-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. An online memorial can be viewed at: www.given-dawsonfuneralhome.com
