Sarah Louise Runningshield

Funeral Services for Sarah Louise Runningshield, 69, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 27, 2026 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church with burial to follow at Yellowcalf Cemetery. A Vigil service with a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Blue Sky Hall with a wake to follow at Ira Runningshield's home at 41 Plunkett Rd. Ms. Runningshield passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026 in Riverton, Wyoming.

Born December 18, 1956, in Lander, Wyoming, to Dorothy Gambler (Whiteplume) and Louis Runningshield, she was raised in the Catholic faith. She was given the Indian name Woxu' Hisei – Grass Woman.

She attended Intermountain Indian School in Utah, graduating in 1975. She later continued her education at Central Wyoming College, where she earned an Associate Degree in Accounting. She dedicated her career to the Arapaho Tribe, serving as a staff accountant for many years until her retirement.

She enjoyed watching classic westerns and cooking shows, playing pool, and, most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
