Stanley Erickson Obituary

Stanley Roy Erickson, 81, of Jacobson, MN, formerly of Braham, MN and Mora, MN, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at his home after a long battle with cancer.

He was born September 7, 1943 in Anoka, MN to Elmer and Viola (Calson) Erickson. Stanley was raised one of five children on a farm in Andover, MN and graduated from Anoka High School in 1961. He was a member of the Minnesota National Guard and worked for over 30 years with Adolphson-Peterson Construction Company.

He and first wife Patricia settled on a farm in rural Braham, MN in 1967 where he farmed while also working construction for A & P in the metro area. On that farm, he helped to raise three sons, Jim, Brian and Brad. He was a member of the Braham Moose Lodge #1544 and was a league bowler at The Braham Lanes.

After Patricia's passing in 1989, Stanley married Mariesther Conley of Mora, MN in 1993. Shortly thereafter, they bought a cabin on their beloved Wakefield Lake in Aitkin County. A few years later, they moved to their new permanent residence just across Highway 65, a log home on the Mississippi River. Another cabin, this time on the Angle Inlet way up at the Northwest Angle, came calling. It was there that he acquired the monicker "Tin Shack Stan" and was proudly one of the first ever owners of a Snow Bear ice fishing vehicle.

He loved the outdoors and fishing and hunting. Stan was known for his strength, humor and steady presence. His trusty John Deere tractor always at the ready to pull someone out of the ditch or clear a clogged culvert. He faced his illness with courage, never losing his quick wit or the care for those around him.

Stanley is preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Jack) Erickson; his second wife, Mary Esther (Conley) Erickson; mother and father, Elmer and Viola (Carlson) Erickson; brother, Marvin Erickson and sister, Violet Erickson.

Stanley is survived by three sons, Jim Erickson and wife Chrissy of Otsego, MN, Brian Erickson and partner Carrie Robinson of Hopkins, MN and Brad Erickson of Anchorage, AK; brothers, Rodney Erickson and wife Karen of Huntley, IL and Larry Erickson and wife Karen of Anchorage, AK; many extended family members and friends.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, September 6, from 2 to 6 pm at The Sandy Beaver, 51866 224th Pl, McGregor, MN. To leave a message of condolence, please visit: www.srtfuneral.com. Arrangements are with McGregor Funeral Home and Cremation Service, McGregor.
