D. Eileen Sowell Nov. 13, 1939 - April 26, 2012 D. Eileen Sowell, 72, of Georgetown, TX, went peacefully to the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ early Thursday, April 26th. Eileen was born November 13, 1939 in Houston to George and Dorothy McMahan. She graduated from Bellaire High School in Bellaire, TX in 1957 before attending Texas Christian University. In June 1958, she married Henry Sowell, the love of her life, to whom she was married for almost 54 years. She lived for many years in Houston and Missouri City, TX, and spent 18 years as a paraprofessional with Fort Bend ISD before moving to Willis, TX, where she spent another 17 years with both Spring and Conroe ISD, before retiring to Georgetown, TX in 2010. Eileen was a loving mother to her three children and never missed a football game, dance recital or band concert, memories her family will cherish. She was highly patriotic and extremely proud of being a Native Texan. Eileen is survived by her husband, Henry "Hank" Sowell of Georgetown; her father, George McMahan, of Houston; her three children: Michael Sowell (Mandy) of Houston; daughter, Patti Wright (Todd) of Georgetown; son, Craig Sowell (Robin) of Georgetown; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild in addition to numerous extended family members and friends. Family will be pleased to receive family and friends at the graveside services, which will be held at 12 noon on Monday, April 30, at Forest Park - Westheimer in Houston.

I worked with Eileen at Conroe ISD and walked by her desk at least two times a day. We shared many stories and many laughs. She had the best attitude and enjoyed telling stories and sharing pictures of Hank, her children and grandchildren. I feel fortunate that she was a part of my life. My sympathy and may God bless all of you.

At Conroe ISD, Eileen worked at the front desk. She could not have been more perfect for the job! She always had a good story, loved making new friends, and was simply a nice person. And did I say she loved her Earl Grey hot tea? She will be missed.

I worked with Eileen at Conroe I.S.D. She was such a nice lady and will be missed. I know she was so excited when she moved to Georgetown to be closer to her family and that she cherished those moments. I am comforted to know that she is now in Heaven with our Lord and I will see her again one day. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
