David Van Edwards was born on October 14th, 1941 in Dallas, Texas and died on November 14th, 2018 near his home of Conroe, Texas.
Van was the manager of the Highland Park High School football team that won the 1957 state championship, and met his future wife, Carolyn while there. He graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Ceramic Engineering that served him will in his career with Acme Brick and his own kiln-manufacturing company, Combustion Products Inc.
For a second act, Van became a detention officer with the Montgomery County Sheriffs Office and helped officers with around the gun range and in fixing their guns. This lead to his other business, Edwards Gunsmithing.
Van is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Frances, brother Brian, and his daughter, Laura, and survived by his wife, Carolyn, son Michael and his cousins and nieces. Over the last few years he took joy in finding out more about his family through his genealogy research.
A Memorial service will be held at First Methodist Church of Conroe on Wednesday November 28th at 11 am at 4308 W Davis St, Conroe, TX 77304. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of your choice.
