Doris Myers Obituary

Doris Jean Copenhaver Myers, 90, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly surrounded by her loving family on December 9, 2021. Doris was born on September 17, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma at an early age. She graduated from College high school in 1949. Doris married her high school sweetheart, Don, on March 26, 1950. She and Don have two daughters, Diana and Julie. She was an amazing mother , wife, and mema. Doris will truly be missed by her family and all who knew her. Doris had a lifelong friend in Iva Mae Brusky. They had an amazing friendship and enjoyed catching up weekly.

Doris was the happiest when spending time with family and friends and working in her beautiful yard. She loved taking vacations with Julie and Kevin. She loved her home and making it warm, cozy, and inviting for all to visit. Mom had a knack for decorating her home for every holiday. It was truly amazing what she could do even at 90. Doris had so much pride in her home.

A perfect day for mom would be sitting on her front porch with Daddy having breakfast, watching the birds, and if lucky, a morning visit with neighbors. Doris loved all animals. She rescued many cats and dogs over the years with one stealing her heart the most, Molly. Mom loved her so much.

Doris and Don had fun together planning where they were going to eat. They would hop in their minivan and head to Sam's in Fairfield for that wonderful buffet and pie. They were regulars at Pizza Shack where they loved meeting their family and friends. Mom always had an ice chest in their car so she could take food and share her home cooking with so many. To know mom was to be assured you would never go hungry- There Will Be Hot Rolls In Heaven!

Doris was preceded in death by her much adored parents, James and Priscilla Copenhaver of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Her older sister Mary Elizabeth Porter and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Her loving husband, Don, of 71 years, survives Doris. Also surviving are daughters Diana Allen and husband Johnny and Julie Habegger and her husband Kevin, two grandchildren, Bryan Allen and wife Sally and Jennifer Geissen and husband Brian, and six great grandchildren J.R., Andy, Cecily, and Marshall Allen and Lainey and Kay Lee Geissen.

The family would like to thank the many neighbors who have been such a wonderful blessing to Mom and Dad.
