Edward Bartholet Obituary

Ed Bartholet, 87, of Conroe, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, July 25, 2022 at home after a courageous battle with Leukemia. He was born on August 28, 1934, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Robert Frank Bartholet and Grace Ann Brazil.

Ed Bartholet was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 58 years. He was a very successful businessman. He and Robin had owned and operated Southwestern Furniture in downtown Conroe since 1965 until their retirement in 2011. They had a special love for their customers, and treated them like family. Ed was an avid hunter, hiker, camper, and fisherman, and was a friend to many. Special thanks to Dr. Eric Kleinbaum and staff at the Millenium Physican's Oncology, and to the special care of Altus Hospice and Sure Care at Home, who made Ed's last days comfortable.

Ed Bartholet is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Robin Bartholet; sons Jamie Bartholet and wife Dominique, Todd Bartholet and wife Kim, and Bret Bartholet and wife Marissa; grandchildren Sarah, Emily, Cole, Logan, Danielle, and Madeleine; great-grandchildren Hannah, Katie, Savannah, and Heidi.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.

Robin and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. It was a big loss for Conroe with losing one of its finest leaders that helped build Conroe into what it is today. The good times will be the ones left in your memories, and they will comfort you! I really liked coming in your store and having conversations with you and Ed about family and Conroe. I respected him as did my Father. You raised fine boys who turned into good men and it was a difficult feat for all of you, but the result is evident! His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and he will be missed!

On behalf of Bridgewood Farms, a program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, I want to express sincerest condolences. Ed was kind enough to donate items to our thrift shop in Conroe some years ago, which benefited our programs, and was appreciated very much. He was clearly a kind and generous man.

Robin- and Bret and Todd and Jamie- I am so so sorry for your loss. Your daddy was like my daddy too in many ways. Always fair and full of good advice- since i was 14 years old. I know you will miss him, but he is pain free and my son will shake his hand firm on his entrance to the pearly gates. I love you all. -

TO ALL THE BARTHLETS: I AM SO SORRY AND SAD FOR THE LOSS OF SUCH A FINE MAN. I MARRIED INTO THE FAMILY IN 1972 AND WAS BLESSED TO KNOW SUCH FINE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOW MY FAMILY. ED WAS ONE OF KIND AND THEY DON'T MAKE THEM LIKE HIM ANYMORE.
