Melba Jean Clifton West, 79, of Conroe, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 07, 2013. She was born on September 16, 1933 in Cushing, Texas to Beall and Alpha Mae Vaughn Clifton. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Leanord Clifton and Hughes Ray Clifton and sister Shirley Clifton Smith. Melba is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Edsel Riley West Sr.; children Edsel Riley West Jr. and wife Margie Lee West, Ronnald Gene West, Jimmie Lee West Sr., Sandra Kay West Jenkins and husband Al K. Jenkins and Randy Eugene West Sr.; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren and her beloved Jennifer Rebecca West Pavlock, who was raised by Melba and Edsel and whom she knew as her grandparents and "grandmom". The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Funeral services under the direction of Pastor Phil Carpenter and Pastor Al K. Jenkins will be Monday, June 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cashner Colonial Chapel with burial to follow at Willis Cemetery. I am so sorry for everyones loss. She was a mighty fine lady that brought a smile to everyones face. I had the pleasure of meeting her at Living Water Baptist Church.
