Greensburg – Mary Jean West, 75, died March 10, 2026, at her home in Greensburg, Kansas. She was born February 21, 1951, in Fowler, Kansas, the daughter of Albert Cinclair “Ace” and Ruth Lorraine (Nichols) Edmonds. She had lived in Fowler, Mullinville, Kansas, Germany, Goddard, Kansas, and Greensburg. Mary Jean graduated from Mullinville High School in 1969 and then attended Airline Training School in Denver, Colorado, becoming an Airline Receptionist. Then she worked for Telemax in Omaha, Nebraska, booking trips for vacationers. When that company failed, Mary Jean moved back to Kansas. She was a homemaker. On February 26, 1972, Mary Jean married Kenneth West in the Mullinville Methodist Church. He survives. She is also survived by a son Jason West, (Susan), Greensburg, a daughter Malinda Kindall, Oberlin, Kansas, a brother Randy Edmonds (Deb), Winfield, Kansas, a sister Linda Brehm, Pratt, Kansas, seven grandchildren, Tierra West, Bo West, Brett West, Coleman A. West, Bailey Duvall (Shasta), Kylee Hammond (Ryan),Madison Brown, seven great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary Jean was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law Kyle Kindall and a brother-in-law Gary Brehm. Mary Jean loved her grandkids and enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, and quilting. Memorial graveside services will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg, with Pastor Dustin Hough presiding. A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, March 20, 2026, at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and Boy Scout Troop 211, Greensburg, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, PO Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054-0041.
