Greensburg - Marjorie Lee Schmidt, 87, died February 7, 2026, in Kiowa County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg, KS. Marge was born October 16, 1938, the daughter of William Ronald "Buck" and Ruth (Hopkins) Mead.
She is survived by her children, Jay (Jo) Schmidt, Rex (Janie) Schmidt, Brenda Schmidt, and Tamra (Terry) Unruh; and a sister-in-law, Donna Mead; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her deeply. Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Buck and Ruth Mead; a brother, Ronnie Mead; a sister, Karen Copeland; and a grandson, Shandon Schmidt.
Memorial graveside services and celebration of Marge's life will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg, with Father Ted Skalsky officiating. A visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg.
Memorials are suggested to the Big Well Museum and the Kiowa County Library, Greensburg, in care of Fleener Funeral Home, 514 S. Main St., PO Box 41, Greensburg, KS 67054.
