Arthur Schmidt Obituary
Arthur served in the U.S. Army Security Agency from 1955 to 1958, stationed in Hawaii. In 1955, he married Lois Lee, and together they raised two children, Michael and Linda.
He joined the City of Portland Fire Bureau in 1963 and dedicated 25 years to serving his community, retiring as a Lieutenant in 1988. Arthur loved time on the water in the San Juan Islands and enjoyed many golf trips across the country.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lois; son Mike (Ronda); daughter Linda; grandson John; granddaughter Cindy Dodge (Andy); great granddaughters Amelia and Evelynn Dodge; brothers Carl (Etta) and Raymond (Carol); and sister Irene Hemming (Phillip).
Arthur will be remembered for his devotion to family, his service, and the adventures he embraced throughout his life.
