Forrest Dean Huffman, 72, passed away on February 11, 2026, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Forrest was born January 2, 1954, in Pratt, Kansas to Lavon Clark-Dennis and Francis Huffman. Raised in Greensburg, Kansas, by his mother and stepfather, Edward Dennis. He was baptized at the Assembly of God Church and attended weekly as a child. Working for the City of Greensburg as a public utility employee for 28 years shaped his hardworking values. After surviving the Greensburg tornado, Forrest moved to Pawnee Rock, where he began a new chapter of his life. It was there that he and Connie Wallis built their life together — a relationship rooted in loyalty, commitment, and love. Forrest was a family man with a big heart. He loved deeply and stood by the people he cared about. He enjoyed playing board games, sharing laughs, and spending time with family. He was dependable, fun, and someone you could always count on. He is survived by his significant other of 28 years, Connie Wallis of Pawnee Rock; stepchildren, Anthony (Shawny), Hypatia (Brandon) and Andrea Wallis; grandchildren, Tyler, Michelle, Aylin, Deo, Hylee and Wylden; sisters, Lucinda Reid (George) and Roberta Walz (Marc); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by mother, Lavon Dennis (Clark); father, Francis Huffman; stepfather, Edward Dennis and brother, Donnie Dennis. Forrest will be long remembered as a family first, stubborn and genuinely good man. A come and go Celebration of Life will start at 2:00 PM with memorial service at 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 14th, at Kiowa County Senior Center, 431 S. Main St., Greensburg. A private family inurnment will be at a future date in Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg.
