Nancy Foster Obituary

Nancy Lynne Foster, a woman whose heart overflowed with love, compassion, and talent, passed away on July 18, 2023, in Conroe, Texas. Born on April 10, 1949, in Honolulu, Hawaii, she led a life filled with unwavering dedication to her children and grandchildren, her community, and her passions. As we mourn her departure, we celebrate the legacy of a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Jeremy D. Schreiber and Robert A. Schreiber III. Though their absence created an unfillable void, their memories remained eternally cherished in her heart.

She leaves behind her loving son, Gabriel C. Schreiber, and his wife, Michelle, of Portland, Oregon, with whom she shared a bond of deep affection and devotion. Her daughter, Jodi S. Coyle, and her husband, Ryan, of Driftwood, Texas, were a source of joy and pride, and their love brought happiness to Nancy's life. Nancy's son, Benjamin C. Griffin, and his wife, Avery, of Austin, Texas, also held a special place in her heart, and their connections grew strong through the years.

Nancy found immense joy in her role as a grandmother to her beloved grandchildren: Margaret L. Coyle, Robert H. Coyle, and Molly M. Coyle. Their love brought light to her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Among the many people who were blessed to know her, her cousin and lifelong best friend, Cynthia Shearer, held a special place in Nancy's heart. Their bond was one of deep camaraderie and unwavering support.

Animals held a special place in Nancy's heart, and her love for them knew no bounds. Over the course of her 74 years, she rescued countless dogs, cats, and other pets, including her beloved companions: Annabelle, Lucky #2, Clare, Sloth, and Ginger. Her home became a sanctuary for those in need, and her compassion extended to creatures great and small.

Nancy dedicated over 30 years of her life to the care of others. As an exceptional nurse, she helped thousands of individuals in their times of need. Her healing touch and comforting presence made a lasting impact on the lives she touched.

Since moving to Conroe in 1980, Nancy was an active congregant and volunteer at both St. James Episcopal Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She shared her gifts as a talented flutist and passionate vocalist, using her music to lift the spirits of others and honor the beauty of life.

Her artistic talents were not limited to music alone. Nancy's delicious cakes and renowned cake icing were cherished by all fortunate enough to taste them. As a gifted seamstress, she lovingly created dresses, suits, and Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren, leaving them with precious memories.

A patriot at heart, Nancy demonstrated a devout love for her country, standing proudly for the principles she held dear.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Nancy Lynne Foster will be held on August 4 at 1:30 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by her are invited to join in honoring the life of a woman whose impact will be felt for generations. Before her passing, Nancy requested that all attendees of her funeral wear bright colors and refrain from wearing black.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Houston Animal Rescue Team (HART), continuing Nancy's legacy of compassion and love for animals in need.

As we lay Nancy to rest, we remember her unwavering love and nurturing spirit. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory forever inspire us to live with the same love and compassion she embodied throughout her extraordinary life.

Nancy was such a sweet and gentle soul. When her son Ben and my son Chet played baseball together, she and I would sit in the bleachers watching the game but, more importantly, enjoying each other´s company. Her spirit of kindness amazed me! The world has lost a beautiful spirit!!

Nancy and I were both Registered Nurses, working at Doctors Hospital in Conroe, Texas, in the 1980´s. Nancy worked in the Nursery, and I worked in Labor and Delivery, so worked side by side bringing babies into the world. We became fast and furious friends! We shared so much laughter through the years. We shared our joys, our sorrows, and our deep love of Christ Jesus. I could not have asked for a better friend through the ages. We spoke on the phone the weekend before Nancy passed away, keeping each other in stitches, laughing, reminiscing. We spoke of how growing older was not for sissies, she recovering from shoulder replacement, falling and breaking her ankle in three places, back to surgery, and then to rehab to recover. Me recovering from cervical spine repair, in a neck brace for several months. On the phone I thanked her for making me laugh so hard because it was the exact medicine I needed! Then, Jodi called me the following Wednesday to say Nancy had passed away. Through my sorrow in losing a dear friend, I know we will see each other in Heaven one Day! My deepest sympathy to Nancy´s precious family! God bless each of you in your deep loss.
