Paul Cluxton Obituary

Farmer and family man Paul Edward Cluxton's love of life and of simple, yet beautiful things, did not come to an end with his death. Paul passed away on May 10, 2024, at the age of 82, after a long, courageous battle with renal cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest and appreciating the simple things in life.

Paul was born in Willis, Texas, on August 5, 1941, to Charles W. and Genevieve Cluxton. His father was an honest, hard-working cattle farmer. Paul and his brother, Charles Louis, grew up helping their Dad with all aspects of farming. Paul graduated from Willis High School, received his Bachelor's Degree from Sam Houston State University, and was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. After graduating, he moved to the Houston area where he sought a career in sales. There he met the love of his life, Mary Ann, in September 1974. They married and moved to Kingwood, Texas, where they lived happily for 20 years.

Although they loved their life in Kingwood, he was a farmer at heart, so they returned to Willis, where he spent the rest of his life as an honest and true hay farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Bowden) Cluxton of Willis, Texas; daughter, Holly Williams of Willis, Texas; son, Todd Cluxton, and wife, Courtney Cluxton of Spring, Texas; daughter, Casey Murphy, and husband, Jason Murphy of Conroe, Texas; nine grandchildren, Macaylie, Hayden, Doran, Reiss, Cooper, Teagen, Easton, Mallory, and Maddy; sister-in-law, Betty Ann Cluxton of Montgomery, Texas; nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Genevieve Cluxton; brother, Charles Louis Cluxton; aunt, Mary Irvin Legg; and sister-in-law, Barbara Day.

A Memorial Service will be held on June 8, 2024, at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 10129 FM 1097 Rd. W, Willis, Texas, at 2:00 p.m. Casual and comfortable attire encouraged, as well as his favorite sports team shirts (Astros, Texans, Sam Houston University).
