Betty Jean Winters Levey, age 79, of Dardanelle, died Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Atkins Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born July 10, 1943, in Painton, Missouri to Clyde Clarence and Audrey Mildred McClain Winters.
She was a member of the Dardanelle First Assembly of God and was a retired Sgt. Patrol Supervisor from the Dardanelle Police Department. She was a volunteer at Dardanelle Nursing and Rehabilitation.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Sheriff Jay Winters and a nephew, Lt. Kevin Mainhart.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and Sheri Levey of Kennewick, Washington; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Brian Turnipseed of Granbury, Texas; a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Ron Mainhart of Russellville; a brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Evelyn Winters of Snowball; three grandchildren, Ethan Turnipseed, Audrey Turnipseed and husband, Nick Dyer and Karlee Levey and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at the Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Sam Niemann and the Rev. Bryce Williams officiating, with burial in North New Hope Cemetery, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dardanelle Police Department.
The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home.

She was certainly a good "cop"!! She watched out for our children when she served in Dardanelle. She knew my son and his friends and knew where they were supposed to be at and if she seen them somewhere she knew they weren't allowed she would come by the house and roll down her window and ask if i knew where my kid was lol bc she knew! I was saddened to read this so late. My condolences to the family! A remarkable line of officers we had here in Dardanelle and Russellville
