Cathie (Kirchman) Wanzer, age 62, of Russellville, Arkansas died on 7/17/2025 after a long and painful illness.
She was born on 10/31/1963 in Monticello, Arkansas. Her parents were Robert Leslie and Mary Margaret Kirchman. Her siblings are Carrie Taylor (deceased) and Christopher Kirchman of Little Rock. Nieces who are special to her are Maggie and Mollie.
After high school, Cathie attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1987. She returned to UALR to complete a Master's Degree in Social Work in 1998. After graduating from high school, she moved to New York City, where she became a member of SAG/AFTRA and appeared in movies such as Three for the Road, Big, Blue Jean Cop and television productions such as All My Children and commercials for Bale Chevrolet. She also sang in a Japanese piano bar.
She was employed in New York at the Bank of Japan in the office of the president.
She moved back to Arkansas and married Philip Wanzer after meeting him at St. Mary's Fitness Center. During her life, she was full of compassion, empathy and integrity. In accordance with her wishes, rather than a public memorial, a small private gathering will be held at a later date.
