James Winford Brock, age 85, of Dardanelle, died Thursday, June 23, 2022, surrounded by his wife and family at their home in Dardanelle. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Humphrey Funeral Home Chapel, with the service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in the chapel. Burial will be at Brearly Cemetery in Dardanelle under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
The son of James McKinley and Flora Mae (Barber) Brock, he was born May 4, 1937, in Dell. He married Marjorie Ellen (Childers) Brock, on Dec. 14, 1957, in Hernando, Miss.
James was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Billy Brock; two sisters, Virginia Wolf and Allie Keith; and his grandson, Aaron Brock.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ellen; two sons, David Brock (Bonnie) of Dardanelle, and Gary Brock (Tammy) of Pottsville; two daughters, Marjorie Brock-Mars of Dardanelle, and Kim Constantino (Nick) of Russellville; six grandchildren, Matthew Brock (Danielle), Kevin Reddell (Pamela), Joshua Brock (Ashlynn Hall), Misty McCoy (Jeramy), Travis Brock (Brentney) and Caitlin Gilmer (Joey); 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Annie Hoffman, Mary Boyd (Jim), Bonnie Pipes (James) and Brenda Holland (Donald); and a brother, Daniel Brock (Sandy); and many other relatives and friends.
James loved hunting and fishing and working his farm and livestock. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family especially teasing and cutting-up with all the kids. He worked 26 years with Firestone Tire and Rubber Plant in Russellville as a splicer on the manufacturing line.
Memorial donations may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 220 John Babish Lane, Russellville, AR 72801; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
