Johnny Dale Estes, age 76, of Benton, died Monday, September 30, 2024, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born September 2, 1948, In Batesville, to A.Z. and Virginia Ruth Fugatt Estes.
Johnny was an U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Dover Church of Christ. He loved to fish. He was an employee of Georgia Pacific in Little Rock for 31 years. He loved country music and western movies, especially John Wayne and Tom Selleck.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Melva Jean Estes; two brothers, Marty and Larry Estes; a stepdaughter, Diana Pomeroy; and two granddaughters, Yolanda Alcantar and Angela Strawbridge.
He is survived by two brothers, David (Tara) Estes of Jacksonville and Frankie (Rita) Estes of Forrest City; a sister, Wanda Estes of North Little Rock; two stepsons, Jimmy and Janelda Jackson of Atkins, Roger and Joyce Jackson of Bragg City, Missouri; and two stepdaughters, Judy and Rick Quinata of Palm Springs, California, and Wanda and Danny Yarbrough of Mabelvale; two granddaughters, Destiny Strawbridge and Buffy Huffman; three grandsons, Michael and Robert Alcantar, and Bryan Jackson; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Robert Heflin officiating. Burial will be private and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
