Nancy H. Proctor Palmer Cook, age 82, of Pelsor, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. Born on October 3, 1942, in Scottsville, Arkansas, to Henry and Johnnie Goates Proctor, Nancy lived a life filled with love, and dedication to her family and community.
Nancy devoted many years to caring for others as a Laundry Supervisor at Dardanelle Nursing, where her kindness and compassion touched the lives of countless individuals. She was known for her unwavering strength, and the deep love she had for her family. On April 17, 1992, she married Arnold Cook Jr., in Dardanelle, Arkansas. Together, they built a life full of cherished memories and enduring love.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Henry and Johnnie Proctor; her son, Randall Palmer; and her daughter, Rena Palmer. She leaves behind a legacy of love, carried on by those she held dear: her devoted husband, Arnold Cook Jr.; her son, William Palmer (Mechele); her daughter, Rhonda Shubber (Keith Costello); her daughter-in-law, Cora Palmer; her sister, Marilyn Pritchard (Daryl); her grandchildren, Wade Palmer (Ashley), Noah Shubber (Fatima), Hunter Palmer (Elizabeth), Jarrett Palmer (Tabitha), and Tabitha Ford (Chris); sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Nancy's warm heart left a lasting imprint on those blessed to share in her journey. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who always put others before herself. Her legacy will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Nancy's life will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Price Grove Assembly of God, with Bro. Gary Newport officiating. She will be laid to rest at Goates Cemetery in Scottsville, Arkansas, under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
