Nettie Mae Grant

1934 - 2023

Nettie Mae Grant, 88, of Russellville, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, at Stonebridge Assisted Living in Russellville. The daughter of William Miller and Mary Sophia Katherine Hink Miller, she was born July 28, 1934, in Augsburg. Nettie was a graduate of Capitol City Business College. She worked at Contel Telephone until her retirement. Nettie was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Augsburg. She enjoyed working outside in her flower beds, feeding the birds and sewing for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lela Anne Miller and Elsa Miller Bunch; two brothers, John Miller and Garland Miller; one niece, Annette Bunch.

Survivors include two daughters, Marcia Grant Waldo of Russellville and Patricia Grant Rook (Steve) of Russellville; one son, Joe Donald Grant, Jr. (Jan) of London; two grandchildren, Amelia Rook Underwood (Johnathan) of London, Mary Griffin Grant of Fayetteville; numerous extended family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church in Augsburg. Rev Joshua Ralston will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Memorials may be made to Zion Cemetery Fund or the Augsburg Food Pantry.
