Ronald "Ronnie" Eugene Dotson passed away on August 8, 2023. He was 66 years old. He was born January 24, 1957, in Russellville and spent the majority of his life enjoying all the amenities that Arkansas provided.
He served his country in the United States Marine Corps and National Guard, worked as a logger, and finished his 30-plus year career in the nuclear industry working at Palo Verde Generating Station in Tonopah, AZ in the Safety and Project Management Organizations and Arkansas Nuclear One in the Project Management realm. He has touched the lives of everyone he has crossed paths with and has NEVER met a stranger. His laughter and personality were infectious and his heart full of love.
He was a pillar in the community and also in his profession. Ronnie's priority was his family and friends which spanned across the country, spending quality time playing golf, baseball, softball, driving, watching NASCAR, and dedicating a great deal of time to his grandchildren's activities while monitoring the ever-changing weather and providing a swift report out to everyone!
Ronnie leaves behind his high school sweetheart and loving wife, Jenny; his mother, Belva Martin; stepfather, Gene "Smiley" Vinson; two sons, Jason Dotson, and Justin (Allison) Dotson; his grandchildren, Matthew Gonzalez, Cody (Rylee) Dotson, Jakob Dotson, Abigail Dotson, Gabriella Dotson, Isabella Dotson, and Jase Dotson; his great-grandchildren, Esaia Marquez, Mateo Marquez, Asher Dotson, and Kayson Dotson; his sisters, Brenda Dotson and Cynthia Vinson; special siblings, Sharon Meyer, Ray (Melissa) Dotson, Teresa (Bruce) Beck, Deidra (Tim) Dennis; aunts uncles, Vester (Dorothy) Dotson, Clara Dotson, Carroll (Freida) Dotson, and Kathy (Gwenn) Collins; brother-in-law, Dick Clawson; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Pendergrass; numerous family; and friends which he considered cherished extended family. Ronnie was proceeded in death by his father, George Dotson and several other cherished family members.
Please join the family in celebrating Ronnie's life on Monday, August 14, 2023, at 10 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Assembly of God, 14962 SR 7 N, Dover, AR, 72837. Burial will follow at the North New Hope Cemetery, 15145 AR-333, Dover. There will be a viewing on Sunday, August 13, 2023 between 3-5 p.m. at Humphrey Chapel, 2801 West Main Street, Russellville, AR 72801.
