Shirley Posey, 89, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway.
The daughter of John Stewart and Lila Stewart, she was born August 22, 1935, in Camden. She was an assistant manager with Posey Printing. Shirley took great pride in raising her family and was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Russellville. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, and reading her Bible. She found the most joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Max Ray Posey; her parents; her two brothers, Ben Stewart and Calvin Stewart; and sister, Rita Harcrow.
Survivors include her son, Tom Posey and fiancé Sonya Loop; grandchildren, T.J. Posey and wife Jenny, Luke Posey and wife Kaci; Emily Comiskey and husband Kyle; and Sarah Posey and fiancé Jace Shirley; great-grandchildren, Wes, Drew, Will and Deacon Posey; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended family.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2024, at Oakland Cemetery in Atkins by Humphrey Funeral Service. Rev Greg Sykes will officiate. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from 9-10 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2024, at Oakland Cemetery in Atkins.
Pallbearers are T.J. Posey, Luke Posey, Kyle Comiskey, Jace Shirley, John Conville, and David Heard.
