Wilma June Byrd, lovingly known as "June" to most who knew her, passed away with loved ones in her heart entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri, at the age of 71.
June was born on November 13, 1953, to Conley Floyd Byrd and Dorothy Helen Johnson. She was a woman of quiet strength, fierce devotion, and unwavering faith in God. From a young age, she understood her purpose in life was to be a protector – a role she fulfilled with grace and unconditional love for those around her.
June is survived by her siblings Billy Byrd of Cassville, Missouri; Marvin Byrd of Cassville, Missouri; Ronnie Byrd of Springdale Arkansas; Donna Smith of Ola, Arkansas; and Rita Byrd of Berryville, Arkansas. She also leaves behind her four children: Jeffrey Lane of Bella Vista, Arkansas; Stacy Lane of Hindsville, Arkansas; Jessica Lane of Pierce City, Missouri; and Joshua Lane of Cassville, Missouri.
She was a proud grandmother to: Jeffrey Aaron Lane, Cortini Lane, Mackenzie Lane, Matthew Lane, Sarah Lane, Brandon Navarrete, Makinzy Navarrete, Liliana Triste, Lydia Triste, Abagail Lane, Maggie Lane, Seth Peterson, Jaziah Lane, Joshua Aaron Lane Jr., and Peyton Lane.
June was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers – Bobby Byrd, James Byrd, and Ricky Byrd – two nephews, Christopher and Delbert Smith, and one niece, Jennifer Smith. A great-granddaughter Jazmin Lane.
June had a deep appreciation for all things beautiful and carried herself with kindness, thoughtfulness, and selflessness in everything she did. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved and protected so fiercely.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation services will be provided by White's Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri, on July 15. Rather than a public memorial, a small private gathering of close family and friends will be held in her honor.
Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory.
