AGE: 95 • Clarksboro
Christian Miller, III, of Clarksboro, New Jersey, age 95, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2017.
A loving man with a heart of gold, Chris dedicated his life to his family. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII, specifically the Battle of Okinawa. Chris was an avid gardener whether it be growing vegetables or flowers. He had a calming nature and he was a true family man, especially enjoying the company of his grandchildren. A kind soul among us, Chris will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him.
Beloved husband for 46 years of the late Florence (nee Wentz) and the late Beverly (nee Hanby); devoted father of Alice Schweigart (Joseph) and Maryann Kern; loving grandfather of Vicky Schweigart, Kristine Cox (Tom) and Christian Kern (Rochelle) and great-grandfather of Tommy, Rachel and Danielle; dear brother of Verna and Wallace and the late Viola, Rae, Gladys, Bessie and Norman; treasured cousin of Jimmy Patterson; Chris leaves behind countless nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Chris' viewing on Wednesday morning from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter St, Woodbury, NJ 08096. A service will follow at 1:00PM. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.

I never was lucky enough to meet this man who inspired so many, who was loved by so many, but showed so much strength, passed down to his children and their children. I can only imagine the kind of man to have raised his family, worked a farm, served our country and showed love to his family. I wish I could have met you, Mr. Christian Miller, in better circumstances. I wish I could have seen the man Christian (my husband) speaks about so reverently. While your body may have failed your story and experiences live on through your family. Many, who I got to meet who love you. I can only speak from the experiences with his Grandson, Christian Kern, but he speaks so highly of this man here...this man who he adored and loved. Almost all the stories he tells me of his childhood some how involve his Grandfather. All I can say is...Rest in Peace, Mr. Christian Miller. Your family will always remember you and your experiences and stories will never die, and always be passed on.

Christian Miller was my grandfather. He will always be with me. He taught me many things and told me many stories as a child and even some into my adult years. The things he has done for me, helping to guide me... I can never forget. I love you, Grandfather!
