Wyman M. "Wimp" Lapworth

LAPWORTH, Wyman M. "Wimp" - Of Montrose, age 77, died Monday, April 6, 2009 at Covenant Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2pm Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church, 133 Commercial St., Chesaning, Pastor Joel Thomford officiating. Burial at Montrose Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Thursday from 4-9pm and Friday from 1-9pm. Mr. Lapworth will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 1pm until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church. Wyman was born February 3, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late George Earl and Velma (Waite) Lapworth. He had resided in the Montrose area the past 52 years. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Wyman married Florence Neumeyer on October 19, 1957. She preceded him in death on March 3, 2004. He was employed with General Motors for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Chesaning and UAW Local 599. Surviving are: son, Brad (Annette) Lapworth of Grayling; daughter, Gail (Tony) Hamilton of Chesaning; brother, Curt Lapworth of FL; sister, Ardith (Oscar) Neumeyer of Chesaning; 2 grandchildren, Michelle (Bruce) Adams of Montrose and Vance Hamilton of Chesaning; 1 great-grand-son, Aaron Adams of Montrose; nieces and nephews.
