Glendon Garwood Miller, Sr. on Thursday, August 1, 2013. Age 86. Husband of 66 years to Elizabeth Ann (nee Parks) Miller. Father of Glendon G. Miller, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Lincoln, IL and the late Mark Wayne Miller and his wife "Cookie" of Franklinville, NJ. Grandfather of Glendon G. Miller, III of Lincoln, IL; Mark Nicholas Miller and his fiancé Candice of Franklinville, NJ; and the late Melanie Beth Miller. Great-grandfather of Kole G. Miller of Athens, IL. Brother of Evelyn Johnson, Donald Miller, Newell Miller, and the late Clare Miller, Belford Miller, Altha Fisher, Beatrice Rambo, and David Clifton Miller. Son of the late David Clifford and Reba (nee Hitchner) Miller.

Born in Palatine and raised in Elmer, Glendon has been a resident of Franklinville for the past 65 years. He left school after the 11th grade and joined the US Navy where he proudly served during World War II. Glendon retired in 1982 as Shift Surpervisor for Owens-Illinois in Bridgeton after 31 of service. Prior to that, he had worked as a union carpenter. Glendon was an avid hunter including deer, rabbit, and especially fox. He was a member of the Pole Tavern Deer Club and often hunted in Maine. He enjoyed woodworking and, along with his wife, traveled a lot in Europe and across the US including camping and many cruises. Glendon was a man with a big heart who deeply loved his family. When he wasn't with them, it was one of the things he liked to talk about most.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Monday, August 5, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Maple Street, Clayton, NJ 08312. Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center, University of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Hospital, 330 South Ninth Street, 3rd Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
