Somerdale - July 28, 2018. Husband of the late Helen Weiner. Father of Eileen (Joseph) Crea, Barbara (John) Zim and the late Gerald P. (Dawn) Weiner. Brother of the late Paul Weiner and the late Louis Weiner. Survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Hank was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII serving on the USS Greene. After 43 years of civil service, he retired as the Superintendent of Fleet Technical Services at the Naval Air Engineering Center (NAEC) Lakehurst. Upon his retirement, he received the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award, the highest service award that can be given to a civil service employee by the commanding officer. After graduating from Simon Gratz High School, and returning from his WWII service, he played semi-pro football and baseball for the Eastern and Philadelphia leagues. He helped build and develop the Somerdale Youth Center where he coached for many years. He was an avid bowler, golfer, Rutgers and Philadelphia sports fan. Hank was dedicated to four things in life…Family, Country, the United States Navy, and the Philadelphia Eagles.
