Helena Nannay Obituary

"Hell On Wheels" on July 6 2003 of Portland ME formerly of Runnemede. Age 80.
Born July 16 1922 in Randolph VT to Alice H. (nee O'Neil) and Lansing W. Smith. She was married to the late William Rees (Dink) Nannay for 34 years. Special mother of Robert and Judy Nannay Earl and Nancy Nannay Thomas and Anna Nannay Debbie Nannay and Robert Levesque and Joy and William Ruby. Also survived by one brother Harry Smith and his wife Barbara and a half sister Dorothy Farr. Dear grandmother of 11 and great grandmother of 2. Beloved aunt to Alice Buck several nieces and nephews and many many friends. She is predeceased by three sisters Mildred Brill Marjorie Norcross and Barbara Thomas one brother Howard Smith and one grandchild Cindy Nannay.
Helena was the co-owner of Dinks News Agency where children came for ice cream and the adults came for news and the occasional beer. She was a member of the Maine Dart Assoc. AmVets Charles J. Loring Post 25 Women's Auxillary Eagles 565 and served as a foster grandmother until her health declined. She enjoyed spending time with children embroidering playing cards and bingo but especially enjoyed trips to the Casinos: "Meet me at Foxwoods."
There will be a viewing Thursday from 11am to 1pm at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME RUNNEMEDE 126 S. Black Horse Pike Runnemede. Funeral Service 1pm Thursday at the funeral home. Interment Bethel Cemetery Hurffville NJ. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
