Henry Magee Obituary
AGE: 91 • Cinnaminson
Henry J. Magee of Cinnaminson, NJ, son of the late John and Emily Magee, passed away after living a full and blessed life on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
He lived each and every one of his 91 years to the fullest by traveling, riding his bicycle, educating himself and his loved ones on Civil War history, and spending time with his family. He was a true gentleman.
Henry was born and raised in Camden, NJ. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After the war, he married the love of his life, the late Mary Magee (nee Moss), and together they raised their five children. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Rita Foulke, Emily Ambrose, Teresa Fox, and his brother, James Magee. Henry is survived by his children, Patricia (Chris) Macken, James (Helen) Magee, John Magee, Carolyn (Bill) Barrett, Paul (Joy) Magee, 12 grandchildren and his first great grandchild.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Henry's life celebration gathering at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 N., on Sunday May 7th from 7 to 9 pm, and Monday May 8th from 9 to 10 am. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 2500 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson, followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Henry's honor to DAV Charitable Service Trust, (cst.dav.org), which provides rehabilitation for our veterans. Dear Patty, Jim, John, Carolyn and Paul, I was so sorry to hear of your father's passing. As a child, I remember Mr Magee as a strong yet kind, very witty and bigger than life sort of man. As an adult I would see him when I went to visit my parents on Willow Drive. I would often see him riding his bike. He would always stop to say hello and chat for a short while. Mr Magee was a very personable man and it was a pleasure to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.
