Joan D. Gaither

AGE: 60 • Collingswood

Beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away on May 5th, 2012 at Capital Health Ctr. in Trenton. Born in Camden to Thomas and Mary Gaither, she grew up in Collingswood, and attended Paul VI High School. As a graduate of Glassboro State College. Joan was a devoted educator who loved her students. She spent a year teaching in England before returning to NJ, and earning a masters degree in science, teaching at Girard College in Philadelphia, Brookfield Academy, and Gloucester Co. Special Services. She loved to read, travel the world, cook and entertain, and and also enjoyed scrapbooking and arts and crafts.

She is survived by her son, Sean, sisters, Mary Datz, Alice Eckel and Kate McManus, and brother, Joe. Condolences can be sent to 5541 Newcastle Avenue Apt 18, Encino, CA, 91316.

A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Sat., May 12, at The Church of the Transfiguration, 445 White Horse Pike, W. Collingswood, NJ, 08107.

So sorry to lose Joan. She was a good friend and she loved you all so much. We spent many breakfasts and lunches sharing stories about our families and I know you always came first for her.
