Margaret "Marge" Walmsley

Clementon - On Saturday, January 16, 2021, Margaret Walmsley, loving wife and mother of two passed away at the age of 78. Marge was born on February 11, 1942 in Philadelphia to John Spenser and Doris (Schmidt) Berstecher. She is predeceased by her brother Jack, and her son Johnny Walmsley who died in childbirth. She is survived by her husband, Kent of 55 years, her two children Scott and Beth, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Marge worked as a home health aide for many years, but her real passion was the church. The wife of a pastor, Marge loved working with the youth of the church. She taught Sunday school for many years. She also worked side by side with her husband directing church summer camps at Pathfinder Lodge in Cooperstown, NY and Camp Hope in Camden, NJ. Marge was an active member in Camden Churches Organized for People. When she was not busy with church activities, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Family time usually involved playing games like Uno and Scrabble.

Marge lived in the Thousand Islands region of New York state during the eighties and still considered that the Saint Lawrence River region to be home and loved to return there over the years to visit.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 10:30AM-12PM at the Abundant Harvest Worship Center, 915 N. 36th Street Camden, NJ 08105, where a Funeral Service will be celebrated at 12PM. Final disposition will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marge's memory may be made to Hope Memorial Baptist Church at the above address.
