Marie Sergi Obituary
formerly of Cherry Hill
Marie Margaret (Laphan) Sergi, formerly of Cherry Hill, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2014 at The Evergreens in Moorestown. Marie was born in Camden, NJ, on September 4th. She was preceded in death by parents, Daniel R. Laphan and Anna M. Brimecombe, her brothers Daniel, Joseph, and Thomas Laphan, her husband, Dominic P. Sergi, her daughter, Kathleen A. (Steve) Watson, and her granddaughter, Allyson Sergi. In 1941 she married Dominic and raised their two children on The Sergi Farm on Springdale Road in Cherry Hill. The Sergi Farm was known for honest dealings and delicious strawberries, corn and tomatoes.
Marie is survived by her son Paul D. (Marsha) Sergi, grandchildren Anne (Dan) Sergi Rybak Williams, Aimee (Craig) Sergi-Moledor, Paul D. Sergi,Jr., Stephen (Lynda) Watson, Brady (Megan) Watson, and Rowan (Angela) Watson, 14 great-grandchildren, and many loving relatives and friends. Marie was a life-long devout Roman Catholic and gifted hundreds of Sacred Heart Prayer cards.
Relatives and friends may call friday evening October 10, 2014 from 6 - 8 PM at the McChesney Funeral Home 30 W Main St, Moorestown, NJ 08057 (856) 235-0315 and on Saturday October 11, 2014 from 10-10:30 AM at St Joan of Arc, 100 Willow Bend Road, Marlton, NJ 08053. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, please contribute in the memory of Marie to the Priests of the Sacred Heart, Sacred Heart Monastery, PO Box 900 Hales Corners, WI 53130-0900, www.poshusa.org.
