Dear Mahon Family,
I am so sorry to hear of your husband and father's death. He was so kind to me when I became a part-time teacher at St. Joe's after retiring from the public school system. It was great fun laughing at his jokes and his "joie de vivre" was infectious. He was deeply proud of his family and did live each day with a smile on his face and joy in his heart. He will be deeply missed.

Doc Mahon was an amazing teacher, I was lucky enough to be in his Anatomy class and enjoyed every minute of it. His discussions were informative yet entertaining, and I learned so much because of him. He knew just how to make a class of anxious seniors laugh hysterically and learn in ways that no other teacher could. Even to this day, he continues to help me in my college Anatomy classes with his silly ways to remember parts and functions. I am so happy to have known him and to have been inspired by him, and to have experienced having him has a teacher. May he rest in peace and God bless his family. Doc will be missed by the entire St. Joe family.

Mahon Family,
I am very sorry for your loss. Mike went from being a parent of a child I coached (Bridget), to being my chiropractor, and finally to being a trusted friend. I often stopped by his office for a friendly chat when he wasn't busy. My outlook on life was always more positive after spending time with Mike. I will always have fond memories of him.

As a parent of one of Dr. Mahon's students, I will remember Dr. Mahon as a teacher who challenged, encouraged and guided my son to be all he could be. Discussions often continued outside the classroom and extended beyond the realm of his lesson plan. Anything that interested his students seemed to interest him. He made science enjoyable at St. Joe's. He will be missed by the many students he taught.
Our prayers and sympathy to you and your family.

Mike, I enjoyed working with you. You were the first and only person to give me valuable advice about a vitamin issue and you were right about it...were right on target... the problem was solved when I took your suggestion. As a result, every time I look at my fingernails I think of you and am thankful. It's a small thing, but life is made up of small things like that. You were a great teacher, a great colleague and much much beloved by everyone with whom you came into contact. We lost one of the best when we lost you. Eternal rest, my friend.
