Nancy Gallagher Obituary

Nancy Gallagher

Seabrook Island - Nancy (nee PAGANO) Gallagher, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2021.

Nancy was born on December 27, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA to Benjamin and Frances (nee COIA) Pagano. She was working at Curtis Publishing in Philadelphia when she met an accountant who was auditing the company. Sparks flew and they were married shortly thereafter. They raised their two daughters in New Jersey and later moved to Maryland. Nancy was a devoted mother who could be found volunteering at every softball game, dance recital and class trip.

20 years ago, they moved to Seabrook Island, SC. Nancy loved it there. It was her happy place. Most mornings you could find her out on the tennis court with her friends. Nancy was the consummate hostess and her home was the site of many great parties. She loved spending time at the beach, especially when her grandson Ryan was with her. Nancy was happiest when she was surrounded by her family.

When dementia entered her life, Nancy didn't let it quell her lust for life. Instead, with the help of her supportive family, she continued to travel the world. She was especially fond of her trips to Italy. She treasured all of life's adventures with her best friend and husband Joe by her side. Hers was a life well lived.

Nancy joins her beloved daughter Kristin in heaven. She leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Joe, with a lifetime of happy memories. She also leaves behind her devoted daughter Kara, her grandson Ryan Kiley and son-in-law John Kiley of Bronxville, NY. She also leaves behind her loving sister Barbara Lay (George) of Williamstown, NJ, her many Gallagher sisters and brothers-in-law and many friends, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future in the Philadelphia area.
