Paul Weager Obituary

Paul Alexander Weager

AGE: 68 • Sicklerville

Paul Alexander Weager, age 68, passed away peacefully at home in Sicklerville on August 15, 2017 with his beloved wife, Tina, by his side after a courageous stand against cancer. Besides being a loving companion to wife Tina Marie, Paul was a devoted father to daughter Allison (Paul) Posner (Bowie, MD) and son Ian Alexander Weager (Long Beach, MS), dear friend to Kevin Phillips (Philadelphia, Pa), and Matthew Phillips (Sicklerville, NJ), loving brother to Patrick (Polly) O'Donnell (Dublin, Ireland), dear cousin to Jude Mc Neill, Geraldine Johnson, and John Whitemore (all of London, England), and a cherished nephew to his treasured Aunt Kitty McNeill (also of London, England). In lieu of flowers and to best honor Paul's memory, continue to make generous contributions to the causes you support, (e.g. brain tumor research via www.braincancer.org), be just and be kind, buy local, support music and the arts, and do something to upset the status quo. There will be a visitation from 2:30 to 4:30pm Saturday afternoon, at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Memorial service 4:30pm at the funeral home. Family and friends may share memories at www.GardnerFuneralHome.com.

Paul would be (and maybe is) very happy to know that one of his guitar heroes, Tony McManus, will be playing for a sold-out Mansion Concert next week. Roughly 6 years ago, Tony made a detour on his way to his first Mansion Concert in Harrisburg to visit Paul. At the time, Paul could not play his guitars, but Tony coaxed some beautiful music out of those guitars for Paul and by all accounts, Paul truly appreciated Tony's effort to visit. Paul -- you will be in our thoughts next week when Tony plays again for a full house. Tina -- I hope you have been well. Please stay in touch if you ever end up in the Harrisburg, PA area and need anything. /Tim Alexander/

Although we didn't see each other often, I considered Paul was one of my closest friends. I will miss his stories, his support and his friendship of almost 30 years.

My thoughts are with all his family and friends; please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time. May his spirit live on in your hearts and happy memories help you find peace.

Paul was a very good man and I will miss him dearly. I never knew Paul's middle name but I am so glad that we shared it, even in anonymity. I enjoyed our many conversations about music and life while we were at the Swannanoa Gathering. I can only wish Tina and Paul's family my deepest condolences at this time of loss. Tina -- Paul was blessed with and by you. We (all of Paul's family and friends) can only be very grateful that he had you in his life when his life provided so many challenges. Please be well and take care of yourself over these next many difficult months.
