Ralph McMahon Obituary

McMAHON, Ralph H. Age 96, of Audubon, passed away at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden on Thursday September 9, 2010. Mr. McMahon was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1913. As a child, Ralph moved to Haddonfield where he attended elementary school and high school. He then attended Haverford College. He joined the US Army and met and married Grace Hucknall. He served in the 3rd Field Artillery Army during WWII. Ralph was captured by the Germans and held as a POW for a short time before the end of the War. When he returned home, Ralph and Grace settled into married life on Kings Highway in Haddonfield. After the birth of their twins, Philip and Paul, they moved to Carlisle Road in Audubon. Two years later they celebrated the birth of their daughter, Joan, and resided there until Grace's passing in 1981. Ralph remarried on December 5th of that same year to Consuelo Talley. Mr. McMahon was a member of the Audubon American Legion. He was also an avid traveler and golfer. Mr. McMahon is the beloved husband of Consuelo (nee Talley). Ralph is the loving father of Philip (Jeanette) McMahon, Paul (Dasha) McMahon, Joan (Tom) Moran and Elena (Tom) Chappell. He is the proud grandfather of Troy and Kara McMahon and Michael Chappell and 3 Great Grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to join the McMahon family to remember and pay tribute to Ralph on Monday between 10 and 11 am at the HENRY FUNERAL HOME, 152 W. Atlantic Ave., Audubon where funeral services will be celebrated at 11 am. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill, NJ.
