Just learned of Dicks passing. To say he was a nice person, would be a real understatement! My deepest condolences go out to Althea, and the entire family.

I have so many fond memories of Dick. I never saw him raise his voice or get angry, and he was usually the smartest man in the room! I always looked forward to the Sullivan's Super Bowl parties and spending time with his and Althea's awesome kids. If I had to pick one image that sticks out in my mind, it's seeing Dick sitting in a chair, legs crossed, at Pat and Lew's with his glasses on the tip of his nose while he concentrates on a crossword puzzle. I rarely saw him stumped by any of the clues. In fact, my mom would usually ask Dick or Pat for help with a crossword puzzle. We lost another great one this year. Sending so much love to Althea, Kate, Dan, and Molly.

Loved him all his life. We were each other's best friend until we stayed long enough in one place to have other friends. So many memories and stories. We stuck up for each other when needed and committed mischief when we when we had too much time on our hands. Stayed close as adults and our kids weren't cousins but friends. Suffered the loss of our mom way to soon. Cherished our Dad in so many ways.
I will miss my brother forever.

We were friends.
God knows, we were friends.
We disliked each other at times. Not many - maybe once
We put up with each other. Certainly
WE laughed and joked and hung out.
We cruised and went down the shore.
We drank---not really. We were amateurs
We played games- Football mainly. On fields so small, when we last saw them we couldn’t believe how small.
I remember when he threw a pass to me on first down (I drop it) , second down ( I dropped it) and third down for a TD. He basically threw it at me at 3 miles an hour from 5 yards away (I think he knew my limitations)
Or pool, we played pool. Not very well but good enough to keep our attention
We were close and then we weren’t then we were. Life moved us here and there, but he was always there- part of me.
My friend was easy to like - We never lost the ease with which we talked and listened and discussed and joked some more.
We loved each other that’s for sure.
And now I cry. And wish I had been a better friend
God speed, my friend
God speed

Dick and Althea lived in our home while we lived in CA on a temporary three year assignment. Neither we nor they knew how long we’d need to be away, but it was cosmic that when we were done our assignment, Dick and Althea also needed to go to AZ to help with Molly’s first baby!!
No one could have lived in our home as well, wherein nary a Knick knack was moved an inch. They kept it perfectly!!!!
Dick was the most perfect mate for Althea. They fell madly in love with each other in 1964, and never had a moment of regret in all the fifty plus years of their very successful marriage!
You could always count on Dick to be kind, smart, handsome, gentlemanly and hilarious.
Rod and I will miss him so much!
