Robert E. Foldes, 79, of Sewell, Washington Twp., NJ, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at his home. Born in Hungary, he left there as an infant to escape World War II and lived in Casablanca where he spent most of his childhood before coming to the United States. He has been a resident of South Jersey for the past 30 years. Robert was employed as a Food Service Manager with Mackie Food and Vending Service in Piscataway and also operated his father's Carvel Ice Cream store. He served during the Korean conflict with the US Army from 1953-1955. He enjoyed worldwide traveling, art, music, cooking, shopping, swimming and was an avid dog lover.

Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Maryagnes Foldes (nee Markette); 3 daughters, Deborah Foldes, Jeannette Foldes-Beam (Melvin), and Roberta Kresge (Emmett); a sister, Annie Morrison; 5 grandchildren, John Terkowski, Rachel Terkowski, Garrett Beam, William Theodore Pace and Trevor Pace; 2 nieces, Katherine Canfield and family and Althea Morrison; 3 nephews, Tom Paget, Steve Paget and Stephen Morrison; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Helen and Bruce Carr; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dan and Patty Ruebeck.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at 8:00 PM in the MATHIS FUNERAL HOME, 43 N. Delsea Drive, Glassboro, NJ, where friends may call and visit with the family after 6:00 PM. Private cremation will follow.
