Ruth E. Quemore

AGE: 89 • formerly of Blackwood

Ruth E. Quemore (fondly known as Bette), age 89, of Knoxville, TN, and formerly of Blackwood, NJ, died on February 26, 2013, at Tennova Residential Hospice. Bette, a graduate of Beaver College, majored in theater - a fitting field for a distinguished woman who loved life, adventure, conversation and always displayed a flare for fashion. Bette and her beloved husband William (Chief) J. Quemore (deceased), both graduates of Camden High School in NJ shared a full life and love of; travel, jazz, opera and the arts. Throughout her life Bette was involved in her community as an activist concerned with equal rights for all people while maintaining a lifelong membership at the Universal Unitarian Church. Her career in NJ's Gloucester Township Public Schools as a teacher and a special services social worker was substantive as well as highly accomplished.

In addition to her husband, Bette was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Charles Schuster and her brother, Charles Schuster (Bob). She was devoted to her family; four children, William J. Quemore (Jim), Christopher R. Quemore, Chaneth A. Quemore and Kurt S. Quemore, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Turnersville, NJ on Friday, March 15, from 6:30-8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the St Labre Indian School, Ashland, MT, 59009 or the First Unitarian Church of New Orleans, 2903 Jefferson Ave., New Orleans, LA, 70115 are greatly appreciated.
