Theresa C. Wharton (nee Scavetti), age 91, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2017 at Kennedy Hospital in Cherry Hill surrounded by family. Theresa was a resident at Avista Care in Cherry Hill, NJ, a former resident of Mount Laurel and Cherry Hill, NJ and a long-time employee of Melitta USA. She was the consummate cook, baker and gardener. She dedicated herself to her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, and organized countless joy-filled family gatherings and celebrations throughout the years.Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph H. Wharton and her five siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Linda J. Wharton (Robert Turrin) and Janet Marcasciano (John); her son, Ronald A. Nardelli (Christine); her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Michael, Justin, Johnny, Sarah and Joseph and her great grandchildren, Leo and Romy. Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 9-10 AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals 212 Ark Road Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. John Neumann Church, Mount Laurel, NJ. Interment will follow at New St. Mary Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Voorhees Animal Orphanage 419 Cooper Rd, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043 or to the Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter 3 Eves Dr #310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
