William Charles Waddell

AGE: 78 • Mount Laurel

Passed away on May 7, 2014 in Denver, CO. He is survived by his 3 children, William R. and Janeen Waddell (Moorestown, NJ), Kimberly Elizabeth and Carl Vollrath (Highlands Ranch, CO) and Elaine Joy and John Nitifan (Albuquerque, NM) along with 7 grandchildren and his yellow labrador, Sunny. Also surviving are dear friends Dr. Wallace and Kate Kuligowski of Albuquerque, NM., and Jack and Carol Turner of Audubon, NJ.

Bill was born in Philadelphia, PA., to the late William and Edith Waddell. He graduated from Moorestown High School in 1953, attended Gettysburg College then graduated from Temple University completing a Bachelors in Liberal Arts. He served in the US Army, 11th Air Borne Division and was honorably discharged. Bill then worked for National Underwriter Company for many years until his retirement. Bill will be remembered for his strength, compassion, sense of humor, and his devotion to family and friends. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and approached each day with a purpose, kindness, and grace. He loved nature, outdoors, the beach, and had a passion for toy trains. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was a Father and "Pop Pop" that was loved dearly.

Besides his parents, he was preceded by Elizabeth Waddell (2007) and his son Matthew Roy Waddell (2009).

A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Friday May 16th, 2014. There will be a greeting at 10 am followed by a Memorial Service at 11 am at McChesneys Funeral Home, 30 West Main St., Moorestown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

"He was a Great Man" - I have had the pleasure of interacting with Bill, Sr. over the last couple years at the various family gatherings and he was always warm spirited, kind-hearted, and there for his family. I always enjoyed my conversations with him and I will miss him dearly.

My condolences go out to the Waddell Family for their Loss.
