I served with Allen on the USS PYRO during his time in the USN. Al was well loved by all the crew and was always lifting up our spirits and moral with his sense of humor and love for his shipmates. Allen and I shared an apartment together with two other shipmates and you could always count on a good time when he was around. I've thought about him often these many years and I am heartbroken that he has passed. I'm going to miss him but we are all better people for having known him. My condolences goes out to his family and his many other friends. See ya Al.

Dear Dad,

I thought of you with love today
But that is nothing new
I thought of you yesterday
And the days before that too
I think of you in silence
I often speak your name
Now all I have are memories
And your picture in a frame
Each morning when I awake
I know that you are gone
And no one knows the heartache
As I try to carry on
My heart aches with sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one will ever know
My thoughts are always with you
Your place no one can fill
In life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
There will always be heartache
And often silent tears
If tears could make a staircase
My heartache make a lane
I'd walk the path to heaven
And bring you home again
I hold you close within my heart
And there you will remain
And walk with me throughout my life
Until we meet again

I Love and miss you.
Your Daughter,
Leslie

We were so sorry to hear of Allen's passing. I knew him through his brother Dennis and played some softball and basketball together. Although I have not seen Allen for 20 years, I fondly remember those times.

I was asking about you Allen, not more than a week ago and now you're gone. You were my step dad many years ago but i have always remember you. You're the only dad
I ever had to toss a foot ball with or go to the basketball games. and i'll always remember those cloth converse shoes you played in. You crome plated my first bicycle got me a race car track for christmas. Me grown up now, as a child grown ups seemed so grown up till I grew up. I always missed you always will. you took me to see" ET " and even the movie "2010 the year we made contact " and all the happy meals from Mcdonalds, and you let me drive that big box truck with all the hazmat signs on it. You're a good man Allen, hope I can be half the father to all my kids as you were to me. breaks ny heart you are gone
