i had the pleasure of working with delbert at mcdonalds. we were very good friends and im sorry to say that over the years we lost contact. i treasured our friendship very much. one thing i know for sure is how much he loved his family. he would always talk about his grandmother. what a comfort to know he is now with her in heaven. to the family, may Gods comfort be with you now and always.

I took care of Del when he was in the hospital the last two times. He was such a wonderful person, and he loved his family so very much. I truly considered him a friend, and he will be missed.
He talked about how badly he wanted to take his mom to Aretha Franklin's concert. When I would come in, I would check to see if he was back on our floor, but in my heart I was hoping he was at home and doing better. I know he is with God. I hope his family can find some peace during ths difficult time.

Jimmy Jo, Kathy and Jeff,
I want you to know how sorry I am for your loss. The last time I saw Delbert was at my mom's funeral. We had promised to keep in touch. And I'm sorry to say we didn't. Delbert was a fine young man and I shall always remember him for his kindness and respect he had for this side of the family. Jimmy I can't feel what you feel right now but I want you to know my heart goes out to you. We don't know why the gentle people on this earth have to leave us. but please know Delbert is with one of the most gentle people I ever met.Your Mother.
