Dennis retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 26 years of service. He was a member of the Church of the Harvest. Dennis loved animals, especially his dog, Bear. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and neighbors, where he was known for telling jokes.
He is survived by wife of 45 years, Brenda (Carney) Embry of Evansville, IN; son, Dennis Ray Embry of Evansville, IN; sisters, Pam Rigney and her husband, Tim of Evansville, IN, Paula Sikes and her husband, Paul of Evansville, IN; brother, Arthur Embry and his wife, Sandy of Evansville, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Gladys (Miller) Embry, and brothers, Lawrence and Steve Embry.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2009, at Church of the Harvest, 7825 Oak Hill Road, Evansville, IN 47725 with Pastor Michael Posey officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. today, February 13, 2009, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave, and also from 10 a.m. until service time at Church of the Harvest on Saturday, February 14, 2009.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.

Brenda, we are so sorry to hear about Dennis. You will always have a special place in our hearts. I'm glad we were neighbors all those years, and we will deeply miss Dennis. You are in are thoughts and prayers.
