Doris M. 'Maxine' Dunning

Haubstadt, Ind.

Doris M. "Maxine" Dunning, age 95, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017, at St. Mary's Medical Center, in Evansville.

She was born in Granite City, Ill., on September 26, 1921, to the late John and Laura (Barker) Parker. She retired from Haub Steak House. She was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Hospital Corp. during World War II.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Dunning; and two sisters, Ruth Rule and Louise Schiff.

Maxine is survived by two sons, James (Rhonda) Dunning, of Haubstadt and John (Linda) Dunning, of Salt Lake City, Utah; one brother, John Parker, of Collinsville, Ill.; and one stepdaughter, Loudine Moore, of Baltimore, Md.; six stepgrandchildren; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; three stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family requests that family and friends gather at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at 11 a.m. for graveside services, with military rites.

The family would also like to thank AseraCare Hospice and the 6th floor nurses at St. Mary's for their compassionate care.
