Doris E. Yeida, 84 of Mount Vernon, IN passed away Monday morning July 3, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born March 24, 1933 in Corydon, IN the daughter of Burrell S. and Virgie Lou (Carrol) Pindell. She married Walter Kenneth Yeida on January 9, 1954 in Posey County and he preceded her in death on February 16, 1976.
Doris retired after many years as a cook from the Posey County Jail. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Point Township Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her sons, Randy (Sue) Yeida and Walter (Sharon) Yeida; daughter, Susan Bobette (Dennis) Marshall; grandchildren, Ashley (Bryan) Thompson, Shane (Michelle) Yeida, Erin Wolfe, Stacie (Luke) Ricketts, Cody Price, Jacob (Tenessa) Price, Blair Robert (Tristy) Reeves and Alicia (Adam) Effinger. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Keith and Maurice Pindell and her longtime companion, Paul Collier.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday July 6, 2017 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon, IN with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at the Point Township Church of the Nazarene and from 9 until services on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Beyond the Walls-A ministry of Point Township Church of the Nazarene, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 133, or Gateway for Cancer Research. Bobette & Family: I am so very sorry for your loss.....Mother's are special friends that we'd like to keep forever but know she is now in heaven and at peace.
