Evansville - Douglas K. Baumgart, age 58, of Evansville, IN, passed away at 4:25 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital - Evansville.

Doug was born August 20, 1962, in Evansville, IN, to Vern and Darlene (Brown) Baumgart. He graduated from Harrison High School in 1980. Doug worked as a general laborer for many years at Zenith and later at Whirlpool until they moved from Evansville. He went on to work for his uncle Charles Ubelhor Masonry. Doug loved to read; you could find him most evenings sitting in his truck at Wesselman State Park reading a novel of suspense. He enjoyed UK sports, fishing, bowling, and any occasion where there were family and friends. Doug especially enjoyed the Brown and Baumgart reunions. He will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved him.

Doug is survived by his mother, Darlene Baumgart; his loving wife of 6 years, Abi (Cutanda) Baumgart, an angel in disguise; sisters, Beth Day (Michael) and Jill Pellichero; nephews, Drew Nulton and Devin Burke; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; extended family in the Philippines; and best friends, Ron Notter and Larry Vowels.

Doug is preceded in death by his father, Vern Baumgart, who passed away in 2010; infant brother, Keith Alan; brother-in-law, Bill Pellichero; and grandparents.

Private Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville.
